Sitting on a rocky hill in Kornati National Park, I look out over the many islands of Rogoznica and the deep blue Mediterranean Sea. The view is breathtaking, and it brings me a deep sense of peace.

Up here, alone, I feel connected to myself in a way that is hard to describe. It’s not a lonely feeling — it’s a peaceful one. As I get older, I’ve found that I cherish these moments of solitude more and more. It’s not that I don’t love being with my husband or spending time with others, but being alone gives me a special kind of freedom.

When I’m alone, I don’t have to worry about anyone else’s needs or expectations. I can just be myself. There’s a big difference between being alone and being lonely. For me, being alone is a time to recharge and feel truly alive.

Sitting on this rock, with the sea stretching out before me and the wind gently blowing, I feel a deep sense of calm. This is one of my happy places, where I can escape the busyness of life and just be me. In these quiet moments, I find strength and clarity. I realize that I am enough just as I am.

Looking out at the beautiful landscape, I feel grateful for these times of solitude. They remind me that it’s okay to be alone sometimes. It’s in these moments that I reconnect with myself and…
