Do you ever get a feeling that something just isn’t right? That’s how I feel right now. I have to fly about 18 to 20 hours including transit time. I will be going back to Austria to visit my husband as he seems no interest in coming back to Asia. He is unvaccinated with covid-19 and has no plan of having one whatsoever. Flying long distances does not bother me years ago, but now I’m scared of it.

It all started when Covid-19 rises and now the talk about monkeypox.

The Covid-19 Era

End of 2019 till February of 2022, I was many times in the plane. There were many reasons why I was flying but to be honest with you, I was as scared as many ordinary people. I was not comfortable with all sorts of tests. Getting infected inside the plane is the worst nightmare for me too.

The Monkey Pox

I was reading the WHO website and the latest article about monkeypox.

I took this screenshot from the WHO website

How we can get infected with Monkey Pox is what fears me most. According to the WHO website:

Environments can become contaminated with the monkeypox virus, for example when an infectious person touches clothing, bedding, towels, objects, electronics and surfaces. Someone else who touches these items can then become infected. It is also possible to become infected from breathing in skin flakes or virus from clothing, bedding or towels. This is known as fomite transmission.

Monkey Pox Prevention

According to the CDC website, some preventions are:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • In Central and West Africa
