Mindanao has thousands of beautiful beaches, but Samal Island is one of a kind because it is so near to the main capital city of Davao. Davao is the hometown of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and the current Vice president Sara Duterte.

On the island, the crystal clear water is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking. There are also several resorts that offer everything from beachfront villas to sleeping on the beach.
