What is the cost of living in Malaysia?

My husband is an Austrian and we are both Singapore Permanent residents.

Here are 6 main topics we consider when we decided to come to Malaysia.

1. HOUSING

Housing costs in Malaysia can vary widely depending on the location and type of accommodation. Rent for a one-bedroom apartment in a city center can range from around MYR 1,000 to MYR 2,500 ($250 to $625) per month, while rent for a three-bedroom apartment in a city center can range from around MYR 2,000 to MYR 5,000 ($500 to $1,250) per month.

In our case, we bought a Semi-detached landed property with common facilities that cost about $150 monthly maintenance. These include securities, swimming pools, management, and landscaping.
